The Jewish perspective on complex end-of-life issues, including the delicate balance between the obligation to prolong life and the ethical considerations surrounding the withdrawal of treatment. This lecture will also explore the distinction between allowing a natural death through passive means and the ethical challenges posed by actions that may hasten death, often termed passive euthanasia.

Dr. Daniel Eisenberg

Dr. Daniel Eisenberg is an Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at Thomas Jefferson University and a practicing radiologist at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where he serves on the IRB and previously was a member of the hospital's ethics committee. A renowned speaker in Jewish medical ethics, Dr. Eisenberg has lectured globally and served as the ethics scholar-in-residence for the New England Institute for Jewish Studies and the Schlesinger Institute. He has published extensively in both scholarly and lay publications, including The Jewish PressAssia-Jewish Medical Ethics, and Aish.com. He also developed a web-based ethics module for the American Board of Radiology.
